The Science of Brainwaves

Dr. John and Ariel discuss different brainwaves. The conversation focuses on delta, alpha, and beta waves, and how they influence our sleep, meditation, mental health, and cognitive performance. Ariel walks us through the different stages of sleep and explains how brainwaves play a key role in falling asleep, reaching deep sleep, and entering REM sleep. Ariel also shares the benefits of tracking and learning to control your brainwaves. For example, athletes perform their best when they are in an alpha brainwave.

Ariel discusses how her product Muse, an at-home EEG headband providing real-time neurofeedback, helps you get into a meditative or sleep state. By tracking your brainwaves and utilizing Muse to get into desired brainwaves, your body can learn to adapt and improve naturally.
