While I am not a fan of drinking all your meals, smoothies, juices, and shakes do have their place as they are a great delivery system for micronutrients and minerals, which are often deficient in our foods or incompletely digested because of weak agni, or digestive strength.

Veggie and Fruit Juice Recipe for Kapha (Spring)

½ cup water (room temperature)

½ cup apple juice

6 whole strawberries

1/6 lemon squeeze

1/8-inch ginger root

¼ cup arugula

1/3 cup spinach

1/3 cup baby kale

1 tsp. honey

Booster Option: Add 1 cap of LifeSpa Turmeric Plus

Directions:  Use blender to combine all ingredients until smooth.

  1. Can fruit and veggies be combined? Fruit have different digestive time than vegetables. Shouldn’t the fruit be eaten by itself according to ayurveda?
