Ayurvedic Protein Shakes Recipes

A note on protein powders: At LifeSpa we only use a low heat,  grass-fed whey protein powder which is the least processed of any protein powder I have found and whey the most easily absorbed. Study after study shows that as we age, we need more protein and whey is the one most effective at building and maintain muscle mass, strength, and endurance.

Protein Shake Recipe for Kapha (Spring)

1 cup rice milk

1-2 scoops Whey Pure (grass-fed undenatured protein powder)

1 pinch turmeric powder. Boost potency by adding 1 cap of LifeSpa Turmeric Plus

1 pinch ginger ground

2 pinches cinnamon

1 tsp. raw honey or maple syrup

Directions:  Use blender to combine all ingredients until smooth.

    • Hi Leon,

At the moment we only sell whey-based protein. If you are dairy-free you can substitute the protein powder for a dairy-free version of your choice.

  1. I’m conflicted about the whey—that’s one of the proteins we simmer out of ghee for detox or healthier diet. Casein is often considered inflammatory—is that part of the whey? I haven’t read your book, but i understand that a healthy digestive fire can handle some wheat and dairy, but I also wonder if the source of these products are happy cows or overmilked unhappy cows? That goes into the calculus, too, for me. ☺️
